That is an excellant point, he is a coach at Buffalo, right? I believe they actually won 5 games this year. He has definately has turned that program around. If it came down to it, I believe Gill will get the job, not because he is black, but because of the success he has had at Buffalo.

Tom will be the reason Bo ends up in Nebraska he will bring in someone he knows and knows will be a boost to recruiting that was a part of the system that made Nebraska the power it was.

Hey Bob, what do you have against Mark May? He is smart, opinionated, and knows football. May does not have a favorite and is very unbiased. If a team sucks, he will tell you exactly what is wrong with them. If they are good, he gives out props and if he is wrong he admits it. I like him and Lou together. They are funny, plus they argue football intelligently. I like Notre Dame, and May talked very bad about the Irish at the start of the season and even though I did not like it, damn if wasn't right.
Just because you do not agree with him does not make him an animal molester (even though that was a good one...lol.)

What kind of offense does Turner Gill run. The West Coast offense was never a good fit at Nebraska. That there's a running school.

I believe if Nebrask can find the offensive lineman they used to get...you know, corn fed, no-neck, small talkin 300 lbs mac trucks, they should run the same type of offense that Florida and W.Va run. Can you imagine if Turner Gill or Eric Crouch was in that type of offense? Hell maybe Crouch was..not sure about that. I think that offense reminds me a lot of the flex bone. For the ones that cannot remember, the flex bone was a thing of beauty when run correctly.

300lbs mack trucks aren't necessary for the spread option, it might even be the opposite of what you need. Fox example WVU's center Mike Dent is 6'4" 285. Our O-line here is pretty aerobically fit and they make outstanding blocks in open space and really fling their bodies while while quickly shedding blocks to create 2nd and sometimes 3rd tier blocking. Those kinds of guys (physically) aren't hard to find, just have to have a staff that can coach them up. You're looking at a couple of guys who played O-line but are overlooked by traditional power and probably played PF or at least Center on an okay high school basketball team. And what's good about the O-line in the spread option are that the Guards and Tackles pretty much have the same responsibilities so you can recruit accordingly. You'll often see coaches switch around guards, tackles, and occasionally centers late into a season based on development or by necessity due to injury without missing much of a beat.

In fact if you scan Cincinnati's roster you'll see that their offensive line hovers much closer (right below but several right above) 300 lbs. Coach Brian Kelly's said those players were definitely not recruited to play the spread he's installed over the summer, but he's been able to squeeze a lot of them because they bought into his system. Scary to think how could they might have been had his O linemen been more agile.

With Nebraska's tradition, upon the addition of a spread O. there's no doubt in my mind they'll soon be where they need to be.

Ah and speaking of the spread... the Hokies may be running more of it in the future.

Word is that part of the reason WVU's D is MUCH improved over last year's sorry showing was that our staff went down to Blacksburg to learn from Foster over the past summer.

As a return favor the Hokie staff is coming to Morgantown to learn the spread this summer (I guess they really weren't planning on burning TT's shirt this current year)... The thought of seeing our Offense run against us in a future Orange Bowl is kind of sickening...
